Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Lab Analyst in Brawley, CA for a 12-month assignment in a laboratory and plant environment. You will perform chemical analyses, handle samples, monitor equipment, and contribute to safety, environmental compliance, and KPIs.

The role offers exposure to SOPs and cross-functional collaboration with engineers and technicians, with a 5/40 schedule and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field required.
• 1 year of laboratory technician experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train across facility areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analyses for bench, pilot, and demonstration tests.
• Collect, prepare and handle samples accurately and safely.
• Monitor and control plant equipment; adjust operating equipment as needed.
• Support lab and operations activities and maintain records.
• Read, analyze and interpret complex documents and equipment data.
• Maintain housekeeping and initiate corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Understand use and location of emergency equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure timely data collection.

This opportunity sits within a laboratory and plant environment supporting bench, pilot and demonstration scale testing. The role focuses on chemical analyses, sample handling, plant equipment monitoring and quality data collection, while contributing to safe operations, environmental compliance and operational KPIs. This position offers exposure to laboratory procedures, standard operating procedures and cross-functional work with engineers and technicians.

Required Skills

• Perform chemical analyses for bench, pilot and demonstration scale tests.
• Collect, prepare and handle samples accurately and safely.
• Monitor and control plant equipment and make adjustments to operating equipment as required.
• Support laboratory and operations activities, including routine lab and plant recordkeeping.
• Read, analyse and interpret complex documents and equipment data.
• Work in accordance with laboratory procedures, quality manuals and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and initiate corrective action for process, safety or environmental deficiencies.
• Understand the use and location of emergency equipment within the plant.
• Work effectively within a team of engineers and technicians to ensure timely collection of quality data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related field such as Biology, Physics or Environmental Science.
• 1 year of experience as a laboratory technician in a plant or research facility.
• Willingness to cross-train and work across all areas of the facility.
