Job summary

The AES Group is seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Structured Cabling Team Lead to supervise installation teams and oversee live data center deployments in Dallas, TX or Wisconsin. This onsite role requires 2+ years of cabling experience and hands-on fiber and copper skills.

You will lead a team of technicians, oversee testing (OTDR, insertion-loss), and ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence across projects in enterprise or hyperscale environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of structured cabling or data center experience.
• Experience leading or supervising installation technicians.
• Hands-on fiber optic and copper cabling knowledge.
• Experience with OTDR and insertion-loss testing.
• Knowledge of MPO/MTP connectors and cabling standards.
• Preferred: BICSI Installer 2 or equivalent.
• Experience in enterprise or hyperscale data centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6–8 installation technicians.
• Oversee fiber optic and copper cabling installation, routing, dressing, and labeling.
• Perform OTDR and insertion-loss testing.
• Manage installation quality, QA, troubleshooting and rework.
• Coordinate daily work plans, materials, tools, and team assignments.
• Ensure compliance with installation drawings, safety procedures, and project timelines.
