Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Labor & Delivery Clinical Nurse within the Clinical Resources team. The role provides advanced nursing care across inpatient and procedural settings in a Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting high-acuity maternal and neonatal care and collaborating with physicians and colleagues to optimize outcomes.

The position requires FL DOH or compact state license, BLS/ACLS, and at least two years of OB labor & delivery experience, with on-site work at the Tampa Main Campus.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in Florida or a compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Minimum two years of OB nursing experience with labor and delivery and ante/postpartum care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care across lifespan in high-acuity trauma and obstetric settings.
• Perform comprehensive and focused assessments and respond to evolving conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans aligned with trauma and obstetric standards.
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care across units.
• Respond promptly to emergent trauma-related situations, ensuring patient safety.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and safety policies.
• Support staffing needs across multiple clinical areas within the Clinical Resources Float Team.
