The Bowling Green Veterans Center is a 60-bed long-term care that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual for the position of KY Veterans Ctr. Safety/Security Officer for First, Second, and Third shifts. The ideal candidate will work within a team- centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky’s Veterans.
This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.
This position, in Warren County has an approved Locality Premium of $3.74 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary:
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of military, security guard/officer, safety, corrections, or law enforcement experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for- year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Incumbents working in this job title must be able to work extended hours and perform work outdoors during inclement weather. Must be able to respond to emergencies 24/7.
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
