Job summary

Kier + Wright in Sacramento is seeking an Engineering Technician to produce engineering design plans for public works and land development using AutoCAD software. You will work with an engineering design team from concept to final plan production, drafting sketches, plans and exhibits per CAD standards.

The role requires 0-2 years of AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience, ability to draft on-site and off-site improvement drawings, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe.

Qualifications

• Drafting on-site and off-site improvement drawings for land development.
• General knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Adobe.
• Experience with BlueBeam is a plus.

KWRE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (RENEWABLES) - Sacramento, CA

What we're looking for?

The Engineering Technician will be in charge of independently producing engineering design plans for public works project and land development, utilizing AutoCAD software. They will be responsible for working with an engineering design team from initial concepts to final plan production. They will also draft various sketches, plans, and exhibits using CAD.

What you will do

Technical

• Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
• Drafting grading, drainage, utility, street frontage improvements, and stormwater management plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D grading feature lines and utility pipe networks.
• Preparing drawings per company and public agency CAD standards and project-dependent CAD specifications.

What you have

Education + Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in a position requiring intensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Experience drafting on-site and off-site improvement drawings for land development projects.
• General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
• Experience with BlueBeam a plus.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
• Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)
• Ability to lift and/or carry items (up to 20 lbs.)
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
• Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
