Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Kubernetes Platform Engineer in Dayton, OH to develop and secure a container platform for clients. Qualifications

  • 10+ years in platform or systems engineering in classified environments.
  • 5+ years with cloud environments, programming languages, and CI/CD support.
  • Experience with Kubernetes networking, Services, Ingress, network policies, DNS, and CNIs.
  • Designing/troubleshooting networks for containerized apps and microservices.
  • IaC experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform; scripting in Python/Bash.
  • Operating production Kubernetes clusters; creating docs and SOPs.
  • Linux experience (RedHat/CentOS) in Kubernetes/container environments.
  • Kubernetes networking, container registry management, image hardening.
  • TS/SCI clearance; HS diploma or GED.

Kubernetes Platform Engineer
The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you're eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client's needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container managementsoftware to solve some of our clients' toughest challenges.

As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you'll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment withcurrentcontainersoftware to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platformexperience, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards aremetthroughout the containerization process.

You'll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you'll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. This position is located in Dayton, OH.

You Have:
  • 10+ years ofexperiencein platform engineering or systems engineering within classified environments
  • 5+ years ofexperiencewith cloud environments, programming languages, and supporting CI/CD
  • Experience supporting Kubernetes networking, including concepts such as Services, Ingress, network policies, load balancing, DNS, and Container Network Interface (CNI) technologies
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting networks supporting containerized or microservices-based applications
  • Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code, using technologies such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform
  • Experienceoperating production Kubernetes clusters and creating technical documentation, system diagrams, and SOPs
  • Experiencewith Linuxbased systems such as RedHat or CentOS, Linux administration and networking particularly in environments supporting Kubernetes or container platforms, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • KnowledgeofKubernetes networking, container registry management, and imagehardening approaches
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
  • Experienceoperating AWS EKS
  • Experience managing and deploying applications in an air-gapped environment
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working on Agile teams using collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, or Discourse
  • Experience with technologies such as Calico, Cilium, Flannel, Istio, service mesh, VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, F5, cloud networking, Helm, Terraform, and GitOps
  • Knowledge ofcloudnative tooling or vulnerabilityanalysis concepts
  • Knowledge ofmodernization frameworks used across mission programs
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or technical discipline

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
