Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is hiring a Kubernetes Architect to design, secure, and manage Kubernetes platforms across closed environments. The role is aligned with the ORCA group in Chantilly, VA, and will lead platform architecture, deployment, and automation, partnering with cybersecurity and development teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in infrastructure and cloud/DevOps, 5+ years Kubernetes, and DoD 8570/8140 compliance. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
• 8+ years in infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on Kubernetes architecture and administration in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
• Experience designing and supporting Kubernetes platforms in closed environments.
• Experience maturing CI/CD platforms and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and long-term strategy of enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Architect and maintain compliant Kubernetes environments across air-gapped on-premises infra.
• Establish secure cluster foundations with networking, storage, identity, and lifecycle management.
• Develop scalable deployment workflows aligned with federal security requirements.
• Provide architectural guidance and best practices to engineering teams.
• Create reference architectures and deployment patterns for scalable onboarding.
