Job summary

New Directions Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior ISSO (KTR-26-014) in China Lake, CA. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures for critical networks and information systems in a DoD RMF context.

You will lead cyber risk assessments, develop ATO artifacts, and coordinate with the Cloud Service Provider to ensure security baselines are met. U.S. citizenship and a DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DoD RMF knowledge and accreditation experience.
• BS in Computer Science or related field or AS with extensive senior experience.
• CSWF and IAM III certificates.
• Experience obtaining and maintaining DoD security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive RMF-based cybersecurity package assessments per DoW/DoN/NAWCWD RMF guidelines.
• Develop, compile, and submit ATO artifacts (SSP, SAR, POA&M, monitoring strategies, contingency plans).
• Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and manage RMF processes for cloud migrations.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact with the CSP for security compliance and shared responsibility.
• Deliver leadership updates on migration progress, challenges, and needs.

Job Description:

Planning, implementing, upgrading, or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

Duties/Responsibilities include:

• Cybersecurity Package Assessments: Execute comprehensive cybersecurity package assessments in accordance with current DoW/DoN/NAWCWD RMF guidelines. This includes verifying control compliance, validating security control inheritance from the CSP, and identifying gaps in security posture.
• ATO Artifact Development: Develop, compile, and submit all necessary artifacts and documentation required to achieve and maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATO) for designated IT systems and enclaves. This includes, but is not limited to, System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), Continuous Monitoring Strategies, and Contingency Plans.
• Cybersecurity Risk Assessments: Execute rigorous cybersecurity risk assessments and manage the complete RMF process to secure and maintain ATOs. Provide technical expertise in analyzing vulnerabilities, evaluating impact, and determining overall risk levels associated with migrating systems to cloud infrastructures.
• Stakeholder & CSP Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for cybersecurity compliance with the Cloud Service Provider. Ensure cloud configurations align with agency security baselines and coordinate shared responsibility models.
• Leadership Engagement: Deliver presentations and status updates with information not limited to: challenges, barriers, successes, and required assistance to ensure leadership is fully informed and abreast of the progress of the cloud migration.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.

BS - Computer Science or other technical field with 10 yrs work experience or AS with 15 yrs work experience

CSWF, IAM III certificate.

Salary: the expected pay range for this position is $124,800 to $166,400 but is subject to change.
