POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to
reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
The purpose of the Utility Person is to provide coverage throughout the breaking department. This person is proficient
in many of the positions and tasks in the department. Co-workers, supervisors and managers benefit from this person
who willing provides coverage for breaks and employees who are off from work due to sickness or vacation time. The
Utility person is required to learn as many of the positions and tasks as possible that may need to be done in the
Breaking Department. They must be proficient enough in the jobs and tasks to move at a moment’s notice with
minimal training or instruction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
Driver’s license
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Have good verbal skills
Have the ability to be a self-motivated individual who can work with a minimal amount of supervision
Have a thorough knowledge of the Breaking Department with up to 6 months experience in that department
Have the ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Have the ability to work indoors in a damp environment for duration of the shift
Have the ability to travel stairs.
Have the ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Safety regulations for the area
Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job
Have a sufficient understanding of USDA requirements and company specifications
Have the ability to retain knowledge for future use.
Have the equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties.
Ability to operate specific equipment or tools
