Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a KPO Engineer to support Kaizen initiatives by analyzing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and applying lean tools. This onsite role in Malden, MA, requires collaboration with the Site KPO Leader and cross-functional teams to drive improvements across production lines.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in Engineering and 5+ years in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement, with CAD knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • +5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
  • CAD knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and with others on a team.
  • Must be able to work primarily on shop floor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for waste reduction.
  • Develop and implement lean tools (5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
  • Support Kaizen workshops and document improvements.
  • Provide technical expertise in process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Travel to other Pursuit sites to participate and lead kaizen workshops.

About the Opportunity:

The KPO Engineer supports the Kaizen initiatives by analyzing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing lean tools. They work closely with the Site KPO Leader to execute continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for waste reduction.
  • Develop and implement lean tools (5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
  • Support Kaizen workshops and document improvements.
  • Provide technical expertise in process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Must be self-motivated, result oriented with a sense of urgency and adaptability
  • Understanding of mechanical, components, machine design & building Mechanical, wiring, plumbing including pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Operating knowledge of the following machines such as manual lathes, mills, saws, press brakes, welding machines and all power tools is preferred.
  • Process improvements which include, people, material and information flow, mistake proofing, quick change fixturing, standardization, quick and hands-free clamping, and hands-free loading and unloading.
  • Travel to other Pursuit sites to participate and lead kaizen workshops.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • +5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CAD knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work primarily on shop floor environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to travel between locations or to suppliers up to 25% of time.
