University of Michigan seeks a Korean Acquisitions Assistant to support acquisitions of Korean language materials and copy cataloging. The role involves processing orders, handling invoices, and maintaining holdings in ALMA, with opportunities to train student assistants.
You will report to the Head of Asia Library Technical Services and may work onsite or in a hybrid mode, collaborating with librarians and staff across departments.
The Korean Acquisitions Assistant is primarily responsible for two categories: i acquisitions and copy cataloging.
Acquisition-related activities for all formats of Korean language materials.
As the Korean Acquisitions Assistant, you will receive all formats of Korean language materials including monographs, serials, visual materials, musical scores, and maps. You will prepare orders, prepare invoices for payment, and handle other acquisitions-related matters to support research in Korean Studies.
You will also perform copy cataloging for newly acquired Korean language printed materials including monographs and materials that are part of standing orders, and update holdings and perform record maintenance for added volumes and serials in ALMA.
You will report to the Head of Asia Library Technical Services. This position is onsite or hybrid.
