Job summary

UMGC Asia is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach on-site in South Korea for the History and Government program at Kunsan Air Base. A Master’s degree in History and Government is required, with local applicants only and the ability to maintain legal status in the country of employment.

The role involves actively engaging students, guiding collaborative and project-based learning, and providing regular constructive feedback.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in History and Government or related field.
• Professional experience in History and Government.
• Experience teaching adult learners online is strongly preferred.
• Local applicants only.
• Applicants must have and be able to maintain their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise and connect concepts across the program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements.
