Job summary

Regent Surgical Health is seeking an OR Registered Nurse to deliver intraoperative patient care in procedure rooms and ORs. You will transport, position, disinfect, and prepare patients, verify medications, and assist surgeons while ensuring proper supplies and sterile technique.

You will maintain care plans, document nursing activities, and communicate with the team to support safe, efficient surgeries and postoperative care. ASC experience is preferred and CNOR is a plus.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required by ASC policy.
• ASC experience preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Knowledge of intraoperative nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with intraoperative care in procedure rooms and OR.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room.
• Prepare patients for surgery by disinfecting skin and positioning on the table.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and medications are ready for use.
• Verify name, strength and dosage of medications.
• Assist surgeon during procedures with instruments and tasks.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure OR runs smoothly.
• Develop and implement care plans for surgical patients.
• Assist in storage and maintenance of surgical equipment.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Apply aseptic and sterile techniques to instruments and equipment.
• Address patient concerns and provide postoperative care.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation for care delivered.
• Clean and disinfect all surfaces between cases.
• Problem-solve in stressful environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the role

Under the direction of Clinical Leadership, the Operating Room (OR) RN has responsibility for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well‑being of all patients and staff in the intraoperative areas. Monitor patient care to assess the progress of the operating room process. May function in the surgical technician role as needed, including instrument handling, maintaining the sterile field, performing surgical counts, and case set/turnover. Maintain open communication with all staff to promote improvement in performance and quality care.

What you'll do

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide patients with intraoperative care in procedure rooms and operating rooms.
• Transport patients to and from operating/procedure room.
• Prepare patients for surgery by disinfecting skin at the operation site and positioning them on the operating table.
• Ensure proper supplies, equipment, and medications are ready for use.
• Verify name, strength and dosage of medication.
• Assist surgeon during procedures with duties such as passing medical equipment and
• Ensure that the operating room runs smoothly and is stocked with all necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement care plans for surgical patients.
• Assist in the maintenance and storage of surgical equipment.
• Communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care including surgical/procedure delays.
• Apply aseptic and sterile techniques to medical instruments and equipment before, during, and after surgery.
• Alleviate patients’ concerns by answering questions and providing postoperative care

• Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• Clean and disinfect all tables, counter surfaces, stands, and floor between all cases.
• Able to problem solve in the presence of stressful situations/ work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)

PREFERRED:

• ASC experience
• CNOR certification
