Job summary

British American Household Staffing seeks a top-tier live-in nanny for two young children (ages 2 and 3) on the Upper East Side. The role requires living-in on the father's days with a flexible 3-month schedule and travel both domestically and internationally.

2 weekends per month required; full-time benefits offered. The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, organized, and capable of managing transitions between households, with experience in kosher kitchen settings and in safeguarding

Overview

A busy father living on the Upper East Side is in search of a top notch nanny for his two children, ages 2 and 3. Dad has 50/50 custody and will need the nanny to live-in on his days. The schedule will be discussed with appropriate candidates and a 3 month schedule will be provided at a time but does require 2 weekends per month and some travel. When dad does not have the kids, you have off. Dad is looking for the best so full-time benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Providing attentive, professional, and nurturing care for the children of the household
• Live-in during dads schedule- a 3 month schedule will be provided.
• Managing daily routines, schedules, activities, and appointments
• Traveling domestically and internationally with the family as needed. You must be comfortable packing/unpacking for the children
• Maintaining a calm, professional, and organized presence in the household at all times
• Being proactive and communicating clearly with dad about the children’s needs, development, and daily activities
• Supporting the children with age-appropriate learning, play, and developmental activities
• Light child related household tasks including children’s laundry and organization
• Facilitating face-time calls with other parent
• Helping with light meal preparation and feeding the children (i.e. reheating, snack prep, etc., as the family employs a full-time chef).
• Supporting the children with routines including nap time and bedtime
• Transporting children safely to school drop ofs and pickups as well as other activities - working with security and drivers
• Being flexible and responsive to help with shift changes
• Build positive relationships with the children and the entire household

Qualifications

• Confident managing two children of different ages at once
• Active and playful; enjoys swimming, outings, and engaging activities
• Knowledgeable in child development; incorporates age-appropriate learning into play
• Mature and authoritative — able to set boundaries with calm authority, balancing structure with warmth
• Highly organized and self-reliant — takes initiative with tasks such as packing bags, organizing closets, and cleaning children’s equipment
• Comfortable managing logistics, scheduling, and transportation- expierence with divorce and hands-offs is a major plus
• Capable of preparing and serving simple, healthy meals for the children
• Aligned with family values — respectful, supportive, and intentional in modeling good manners, self-confidence, and responsibility
• Warm, professional, and proactive — able to balance partnership with initiative
• Engaging and playful while maintaining calm, firm boundaries
• Organized and detail-oriented; anticipates needs and supports smooth logistics- children will need support during transitions from home to home and we are looking for someone who can help with this.
