Job summary

Cooley LLP seeks a Knowledge Management Attorney to join the Practice Engineering team within the Innovation department in New York. The role focuses on designing and implementing document automation and data models to support fund formation work and to keep pace with evolving legal, market, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a large law firm.
• Active member in good standing or registered in-house counsel of the bar(s) in all jurisdictions from which you regularly work.
• Juris Doctor(ate) or non-US equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and iManage.

Responsibilities

• Identify, draft and maintain standard forms, precedent and guidance materials with practice group leadership.
• Coordinate collection, deployment, and maintenance of standard forms across Cooley's software portfolio.
• Serve as SME for practice group attorneys and engineering teams on tools, processes, and data products.
• Prepare high-quality thought leadership materials for attorneys and clients.
• Prioritize form collection, automation, and testing based on value and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with automation efforts for practice group work product and processes.
• Develop automated testing methodologies for updated legal language deployment.
• Assist with usability testing to improve software usability for attorneys and clients.
• Identify risks related to AI-powered and deterministic software; contribute to mitigation.
• Promote continuous learning and cross-department collaboration.
