Qualifications

Job Summary

The Firm's Practice Innovation and Knowledge Management team is seeking a Knowledge Management Attorney (KM Attorney) to support the firm's labor and employment practices, industry groups, and strategic initiatives through the development and delivery of legal knowledge resources, training, and technology-enabled solutions. The role partners closely with attorneys, practice leaders, and business professionals to strengthen knowledge sharing, improve consistency, and enhance the delivery of legal services.

As a strategic member of the Knowledge Management team, the KM Attorney helps capture, organize, and scale the firm's collective knowledge and experience. By combining substantive legal expertise with knowledge management, professional development, and innovation capabilities, the role enables attorneys to work more effectively, promotes collaboration across practice areas, and supports the firm's broader client service and business objectives.

This position reports to the Director of Knowledge Management and works closely with Practice Group Leaders, Industry Group Leaders, Practice Innovation professionals, and other firm stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

Knowledge Management and Content Development

• Identify knowledge management priorities for assigned practices, industry groups, and firm initiatives and develop strategies to advance those objectives.
• Build, organize, maintain, and enhance the firm's knowledge resources, including model documents, forms, precedents, checklists, research tools, playbooks, and other legal content.
• Monitor and communicate legal, regulatory, and industry developments relevant to labor and employment law and related practice areas.
• Maintain and improve knowledge repositories, intranet content, and practice-specific resources to ensure information is current, accurate, and readily accessible.
• Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals to capture institutional knowledge, develop reusable work product, and promote best practices across the firm.
• Support content governance efforts to ensure the consistency, quality, and usability of knowledge assets.

Attorney Development and Training

• Develop and support training programs, educational materials, and knowledge-sharing initiatives for attorneys and paralegals.
• Partner with Professional Development, Learning, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) teams to support onboarding, ongoing training, and substantive legal education.
• Create practical resources that promote consistency, quality, and efficiency in legal service delivery.
• Assist with the development and dissemination of legal updates, practice guidance, and attorney-facing reference materials.

Practice and Industry Support

• Develop a strong understanding of attorney experience, subject matter expertise, and practice capabilities across the firm.
• Support Practice Group and Industry Group Leaders in disseminating legal developments, best practices, and substantive resources to attorneys nationwide.
• Assist practice and industry leadership with strategic initiatives designed to advance client service, operational excellence, collaboration, and attorney engagement.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing among attorneys and support efforts to connect lawyers with relevant experience and expertise.

Business Development and Thought Leadership

• Assist with drafting and editing client alerts, articles, blogs, white papers, presentations, webinars, podcasts, and other thought leadership content.
• Support responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), client pitches, and other business development activities by providing legal content, resources, and practice information.
• Partner with Marketing and Business Development teams to develop and maintain materials describing the firm's experience, capabilities, and market position.
• Help identify opportunities to showcase attorney expertise and promote the firm's substantive strengths to clients and prospective clients.

Innovation and Technology

• Collaborate with Practice Innovation, Knowledge Management, IT, and attorney stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced knowledge delivery.
• Support the evaluation, implementation, testing, and adoption of legal technology, document automation, artificial intelligence, and other innovation initiatives.
• Assist in developing processes, workflows, and resources that improve attorney efficiency and client service.
• Help identify and leverage technology solutions to enhance the accessibility, usability, and value of firm knowledge assets.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct or coordinate legal research and information-gathering projects.
• Support special projects and firm initiatives as assigned.
• Collaborate with administrative and business professional teams to ensure effective execution of knowledge management projects.
• Work with Practice Innovation, Professional Development, Marketing, and other departments to advance strategic firm objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Three to eight years of labor and employment law experience preferred, including experience in employment litigation, labor relations, workplace counseling, or a related labor and employment practice area.
• Strong legal research, writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in knowledge management, professional development, legal operations, innovation, or legal technology.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical attorney-facing and client-facing resources.
• Strong project management, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with technology and an aptitude for innovation, process improvement, efficiency, and excellence in legal work.
• Experience with or demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, legal technology, knowledge systems, document automation, or other tools that enhance legal service delivery and attorney productivity.
• Initiative and ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.

For New York City, San Francisco, the expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 and$190,000. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

For White Plains NY, Washington DC area, Illinois and Washington State, the expected salary range for this position is between $145,000 and$185,000. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
