Job summary

Job Summary

The Kitting Operator supports manufacturing operations by accurately pulling, staging, and distributing materials required for production. This role is responsible for creating production kits, processing inventory transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials are delivered to manufacturing teams on time. The Kitting Operator utilizes ERP systems, RF scanners, and inventory management tools to support efficient production flow while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and inventory control standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately pull, kit, stage, and deliver materials to production areas based on production schedules, work orders, and build requirements.
  • Utilize RF scanners and ERP systems to complete material transactions, inventory movements, receipts, issues, and returns.
  • Verify material quantities, part numbers, lot information, and documentation to ensure kit accuracy and inventory traceability.
  • Prepare and label kits according to production requirements and ensure all materials are properly identified and organized.
  • Return excess or unused materials to inventory and process all associated transactions accurately and timely.
  • Identify material shortages, discrepancies, or inventory issues and **escalate concerns** to the appropriate team members.
  • Support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are available at designated production locations when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to kitting activities, inventory transactions, and material shortages.
  • Support material traceability requirements by properly processing transactions within manufacturing and inventory systems.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy initiatives as required.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, ISO, and company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, planning, and inventory control teams to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, materials, inventory control, kitting, warehousing, logistics, or a related production environment required. Or equivalent combination of experience.
  • Experience working within ERP systems required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing RF scanners (RF guns) for inventory transactions, material movement, and inventory tracking preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate inventory management and manufacturing software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production documentation, and visual aids.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
