Job summary

LKSD is seeking a Utility Worker to support a school kitchen in Bethel. The role involves cleaning, stocking, serving, and some light food service tasks in a dining or storeroom setting.

Responsibilities include washing items, cleaning dishes, stocking areas, and maintaining sanitary conditions across dining, kitchen, and storage spaces, with occasional large cleaning projects and table setup. English fluency and ability to obtain an Alaska Food Worker’s Card within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• Some experience or training to demonstrate knowledge of cleaning equipment, food preparation, and general cleaning processes or suitability for this type of work.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must be able to obtain Alaska Food Worker’s Card within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
• Stock storage areas with various products.
• Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas and equipment as well as all floors.
• Removes garbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines, etc.
• Assists with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• May have some responsibility with food service-related duties and responsibilities.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
