Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops in Newtown, IL is hiring a Kitchen Team Member to greet customers, keep the deli stocked, and prepare fresh salads, sandwiches, and snacks. You will learn all duties on the job and join a friendly team dedicated to clean, safe food and fast, courteous service.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn deli prep and food safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail food environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide general customer service for menu questions and help the deli team.
• Assist store cashiers and keep the deli, coffee, and fountain area clean and stocked.
• Prepare deli items per guides (salads, sandwiches, fruit bowls, parfaits).
• Follow all company policies and food safety procedures.
• Potential cross-training in other store roles as needed.
• Lift 25+ pounds and work in various temperatures.

As a Kitchen Team Member, your role goes beyond daily tasks. You will interact with people from all walks of life, brightening their day with top-notch customer service and maintaining a clean, stocked deli area. No experience? No problem! We will teach you!

Job Functions:

• General customer service duties including, but not limited to, answering questions about menu offerings, and addressing customer needs. Additionally, assisting store cashier team members in cleaning and maintaining the deli, coffee, and fountain bars with fresh offerings throughout the shift.
• Accurately prepare deli products as instructed in designated preparation guides to include salads, fresh-cut fruit, cold/hot sandwiches and wraps, parfait cups, etc.
• Use a variety of methods and technologies to ensure we follow company policies and procedures to maintain proper food safety conditions.
• Additional duties could include cross-training in other departments such as Store Cashier, Restaurant Cashier, Facility Maintenance, and Leadership Roles.
• Ability to move, lift 25+ pounds. Ability to work in various temperatures.
