Job summary

North Cascades Institute in Diablo Lake, North Cascades National Park, seeks a seasonal cook to work with a small kitchen team. This role offers a remote mountain setting and the opportunity to live onsite while preparing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

Join a union-position kitchen crew and enjoy housing provided at low cost. A $1,200 signing bonus is offered, paid across three installments, with potential to extend beyond one season.

Join our kitchen team in the stunning North Cascades National Park at Diablo Lake. This is an opportunity to live and work in a remote mountain setting while preparing meals as part of a collaborative, fast-paced kitchen team.

What You’ll Do

• Work as part of a team preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Work one of two shifts: breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner.
• Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
• Help deliver quality meals in a fast-paced setting.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous fast-paced cooking or kitchen experience is highly preferred.
• A strong team-oriented attitude and willingness to work collaboratively.
• Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a remote environment.
• A passion for working in a unique outdoor setting is a plus.

• Housing is provided at a minimal cost.
• Due to the remote location, having your own vehicle is highly recommended.

Signing Bonus

The Institute offers a $1200 bonus to all new hires for the cook position. The bonus is paid out in the following manner:

• $400 in your first paycheck
• $400 mid-season
• $400 in your last season's paycheck.
