Job summary

Metro Fire + Security in El Paso, TX is seeking a Kitchen Suppression System Technician to inspect, install and service kitchen fire suppression systems (hoods) from various manufacturers. You will perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and maintain complete documentation of all work performed.

Able to travel to multiple job sites daily, you will work independently, stay current with NFPA codes, and provide reliable customer service while meeting safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel to multiple job sites daily (valid driver’s license required).
  • Knowledge of NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
  • Able to walk, stand, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including on-call, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and move tools/equipment up to 50–70 lbs.
  • FEL-K Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand assigned project documentation and work orders including scope of work for inspections and determine if additional information is needed.
  • Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with internal and external customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction experience.
  • Troubleshoot several different fire suppression systems.
  • Follow troubleshooting guidelines and refer to technical/parts manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment or systems.
  • Partner with sales to grow and protect the service segment of our business.
  • Maintain accurate truck inventory to ensure timely response to customers’ needs.
  • Review and explain all work performed to customers.
  • Stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
  • Attend and complete all required safety training.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

We is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Kitchen Suppression System Technician. The Technician will be responsible for inspecting, installing and servicing kitchen fire suppression systems (hoods) from various manufacturers. The Technician will be responsible for performing on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs and maintain complete and detailed inspection and repair documentation on all work performed. A desired candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Requirements
  • Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day.
  • Knowledge of NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiple times a day.
  • Decent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision; knowledge of fire systems and tools.
  • Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • High School diploma/ GED.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs.
  • Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50–70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • FEL-K Certification.
Preferred
  • Two (2) years prior work experience.
  • Knowledge working in ProfitZoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity.
  • CSA Certification.
  • OSHA Certification.
