Job summary

Little Learner Children’s Academy is seeking a part-time Kitchen Support Staff to join our childcare environment in Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Minooka and Yorkville. Shifts run 8:00am–1:30pm, up to 5 hours daily, with starting pay at $15.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include safe food prep, serving, clean-up, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness; we offer mentorship, paid development, and tuition reimbursement for continuing education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in licensed childcare facility preferred.
• Flexible schedule and part-time availability.
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• A passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all food preparation, service and storage meet regulations and that kitchen certifications are maintained.
• Prepares meals and snacks according to a posted menu, including attention to portion sizes, allergies and dietary needs.
• Daily cleaning duties in food preparation area, including cleaning equipment, washing pots and pans, dishes, and sanitizing surfaces; sweeping and mopping floors.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the Center and outside play area; may include cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming.

Title: Daycare Kitchen Support Staff

Schedule:Monday to Friday

Part-time shifts from: 8:00am-1:30pm (up to 5 hours per day)
Salary: Starting from $15.00 per hour (Based on Experience and Education)

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all food preparation, service and storage is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and the all kitchen certifications are maintained.
• Prepares meals and snacks according to a posted menu, including attention to portion sizes, allergies and special dietary needs.
• Daily cleaning duties in food preparation area, including cleaning food service equipment and implements; washing pots and pans; washing dishes and utensils; putting clean dishes away; cleaning and sanitizing counters and sweeping and moping floors.
• Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the Center and upkeep of the outside play area. This may include washing floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathroom; and vacuuming.

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility (preferred)
• Flexibility around hours and work schedule
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• A passion for working with children
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to other locations as needed
