Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated dining services/kitchen aide to maintain high sanitation standards in production, service, dining, and storage areas for our residents. You will follow Health Department guidelines and HACCP procedures while supporting light food prep and meal delivery as needed.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure an inspection-ready department and a safe dining experience for residents in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food service setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP or safe food handling practices is desirable.
• Background checks and clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other equipment according to procedures.
• Collects and removes trash following recycling guidelines.
• Cleans floors and walls in food service areas per procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes and service ware.
• Adheres to SDS information for safe chemical use.
• Assists in light food preparation as directed by manager or chef on duty.
• Assists in serving meals to residents in the dining room.
• Delivers meals to residents' apartments when requested.
• Cleans large equipment as assigned and follows safety procedures.
• Monitors and records temperatures per operation guidelines.
• Maintains HACCP-compliant readiness and completes duties.
