Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Kitchen Attendant in Pittsburgh to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across production, service, dining, and storage areas. You will follow HACCP procedures, handle safety data sheets, and assist in light food preparation and serving residents.

Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, monitoring temperatures, delivering meals, and ensuring inspection readiness in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping and sanitation in kitchen, dining, or service areas.
• Knowledge of HACCP procedures and SDS safety guidelines.
• Willingness to assist in light food preparation and meal service.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
• Collects and removes trash; adheres to recycling guidelines.
• Cleans floors and walls in designated food service areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes and service ware.
• Follows SDS information and safety procedures for chemical use.
• Assists in light food preparation as directed by manager or chef on duty.
• Assists in serving food and beverages to residents in the dining room.
• Delivers meals to residents' apartments when requested.
• Monitors and records temperatures according to operation guidelines.
• Maintains HACCP-compliant inspection readiness at all times.
• Uses and maintains equipment per guidelines; follows safety procedures.
• Completes table settings prior to each meal.
