Job summary

Talking Stick Resort in Arizona is seeking a Kitchen Steward (Full-Time) to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dish areas. Responsibilities include washing all wares, pots, and pans, and keeping the drop zone orderly.

The role requires a team player with a positive attitude, basic English proficiency, and a valid Maricopa County Food Handler's card. 6 months kitchen experience preferred; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Washes china, silverware, glassware, pots and pans and keeps dish areas clean and organized.
• Washes pots, pans, and related items and maintains a clean pot sink area.
• Puts away washed and dried items in their designated locations.
• Maintains proper chemical levels and stocks back-up chemicals as needed.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Removes trash to outdoor dumpsters and maintains clean receptacles.
• Breaks down cardboard boxes and disposes of them properly.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed by Shift Supervisor.
• Deep cleans kitchen and related areas as instructed.
• Cleans and organizes shelves, walk-ins, storeroom and back dock area.

Reports To: Assistant Executive Kitchen Steward (or Executive Banquet Steward)

Summary

Washes china, silverware, glassware, pots and pans. Keeps kitchen and respective areas clean and organized.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Does all ware washing and maintains a clean and organized dish drop zone.


• Washes all pots, pans and related items and maintains a clean organized pot sink area.


• Puts away all washed and dried items in their respective locations.


• Maintains proper chemical levels and stocks back-up chemicals when necessary.


• Uses kitchen equipment as instructed to insure safety and proper care of equipment.


• Removes trash as necessary to outdoor dumpsters and maintain cleanliness of all trash receptacles.


• Breaks down cardboard boxes and removes to designated area.


• Sweeps and mops the floor as instructed by the Shift Supervisor.


• Deep cleans kitchen and respective areas as instructed.


• Cleans and organize all shelves, walk-ins, storeroom and back dock area.


• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.

Education And/or Experience

At least 6 months kitchen experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid Maricopa County Food Handler's card.

Other Qualifications

Must be a team player, have a positive attitude and present a well-groomed appearance.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English strongly preferred.
