Job summary

IsoTalent's client, a busy neighborhood pub in Bordentown, NJ, seeks a Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead the back-of-house team and set the tone for a fast-paced kitchen.

You’ll be the first in the building, guiding 12-15 staff through prep, service, and close, with a hands-on leadership style that drives accountability and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing a kitchen team.
• Experience managing people, scheduling, food/labor costs, and ordering.
• An upbeat, positive attitude and willingness to lead by example.
• Ability to work in a second-floor kitchen environment, including stairs throughout the shift.
• Background in fast-paced restaurant or bar environments preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Opening the kitchen daily and managing morning operations.
• Supervising and directing a team of 12-15 kitchen staff.
• Managing prep workflow, scheduling, and labor costs.
• Overseeing food ordering and controlling food costs.
• Ensuring proper closing procedures are followed (evening visibility required, though nightly closing is not).
• Maintaining food safety and compliance standards.

Our client, a busy neighborhood pub, is seeking a Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead their back-of-house team in Bordentown, NJ.

The Perks!

• Compensation: $26.00 - $27.00/hourly, plus overtime at time and a half
• 1 week paid vacation after 3 months, with an additional week after 6 months
• Accrued PTO per NJ state requirements (1 hour per every 30 hours worked)
• 2 rotating days off per week

A Day in the Life of the Kitchen Manager / Chef
