Job summary

Great American Diner is seeking a reliable dishwasher to keep the kitchen spotless and organized. You will wash dishes, sanitize ware, and support the kitchen team during busy shifts.

We value hard work, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. This role requires standing for long periods, manual cleaning, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to work well in a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Efficient time management during peak hours.
• Willingness to adapt to additional tasks as needed.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior dishwashing or foodservice experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Familiarity with basic food safety guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
• Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area (sinks, counters, surrounding spaces).
• Kitchen equipment maintenance: Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and appliances.
• Waste management: Dispose of trash and recyclables and empty bins.
• Support staff: Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep as needed.
• Inventory monitoring: Inform management of shortages or maintenance needs for cleaning supplies or equipment.
• Adherence to safety standards: Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Organization: Store dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
