Job summary

Freixenet Copestick Limited is seeking enthusiastic Kitchen Hand / Kitchen Porter to keep the kitchen running smoothly in a rural setting. This zero-hours role requires weekend availability during busy times, with a pay rate of £10.85–£12.71 per hour and tips.

You will help with dishwashing, food prep and general kitchen support, contributing to a clean, organised, and efficient team environment. Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential as you join a supportive kitchen crew.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery, pans and kitchen equipment to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Clean work surfaces, floors and storage areas to hygiene standards.
• Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling and chopping.
• Help with deliveries, unpacking and storing stock safely.
• Support stock rotation and proper ingredient storage.
• Empty bins and manage waste following procedures.
• Assist chefs and kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Follow cleaning schedules and report maintenance or hygiene concerns.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our kitchen team as Kitchen Hand / Kitchen Porter. This role is essential in supporting the smooth, efficient running of our kitchen and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation and teamwork.

This is a zero‑hours position, with shifts offered in line with business needs. Weekend availability is particularly important, as these are some of our busiest times.

Salary: Between £10.85 and £12.71 hour

Location: Sussex

What you’ll be doing:

• Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery, pans and kitchen equipment to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly
• Maintain clean, tidy and well‑organised kitchen, wash‑up and back‑of‑house areas
• Clean work surfaces, floors, equipment and storage areas in line with hygiene and safety standards
• Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and ingredient prep
• Help with deliveries, including unpacking and storing stock safely and correctly
• Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored appropriately
• Empty bins and manage waste following company procedures
• Assist chefs and the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
• Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance or hygiene concerns
