Job summary

Cardenas Markets is seeking a Kitchen Cook to prepare and assemble quality foods daily, following recipes and labeling, and storing baked goods in a fast-paced environment.

You will be a role model of the company by delivering excellent customer service while upholding integrity, respect, and collaboration across the team.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Customer Service and retail experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Proven track of providing excellent results, shows persistence and perseverance.
• Demonstrates care and compassion for people; shows empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relates well to diverse people; is approachable.
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Follow recipe specifications and portion food products according to company standards.
• Maintains standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety.
• Fills and re-stocks front counter utensils, water sanitizer, vegetables, and drinks.
• Ensure all prepared food items are weighed, labeled, dated, packaged and rotated according to company standards.
• Follows procedures for voids, refunds, transaction cancellation and all saved recall transactions.
• Responsible for personal Cashier Productivity.
• Takes food orders in person and by telephone.
• All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS:

WALKING: Continuously, throughout shift, while moving about the store and handling merchandise.
STANDING: Continuously, throughout shift.
LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
