Job summary

Tender Care Centers seeks a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to maintain a clean, safe kitchen and prepare meals per physician-ordered dietary requirements. The role covers rotating Saturdays and Thursdays, following approved menus and allergy/dietary charts, and recording served meals.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), CPR, and readiness to obtain required background screening. Prior food service, healthcare, or childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPR Certification prior to start
• Willingness to obtain Level 2 Background Screening Clearance prior to start: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
• Food Safety Manager Certification or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in food service, dietary services, childcare, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus as prescribed by a doctor.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Accurately follow allergy lists, dietary restrictions, and dysphagia (texture modification) charts.
• Record all meals and snacks served.
• Monitor food inventory and notify management of supply needs.
• Stock and organize kitchen supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and storage areas

This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for medically complex children while ensuring all meals are prepared and served according to physician-ordered dietary requirements.

Part-Time (Rotating Saturdays and rotating Thursdays)

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus as prescribed by a doctor.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift.
