Qualifications

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms.
  • Experience creating visual and multimedia content, particularly video and graphics.
  • A portfolio or examples of previous video, graphic design, or other digital content work are highly encouraged.
  • Comfort appearing on camera and participating in video content when appropriate.
  • Basic graphic design skills, ideally using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • An interest in digital communications, public policy, journalism, marketing, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Draft social media copy for R Street research, events, videos, podcasts, and media appearances.
  • Assist with editing short-form and long-form video content, including captions, clips, and other platform-specific content.
  • Create and edit branded graphics, thumbnails, and other social media assets.
  • Publish and update articles, videos, podcasts, event pages, and staff bios in WordPress.
  • Assist with social media, website, and video analytics and reporting.
  • Help organize digital assets, content calendars, and shared files.
  • Proofread public-facing content for accuracy, formatting, links, and branding consistency.

Job description

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff.

The R Street Institute seeks a Digital Communications Intern to support its digital communications, multimedia, and online engagement efforts. This role will assist with social media, graphic design, video production, website publishing, digital marketing, and analytics. The ideal candidate is a versatile digital generalist who can take a piece of content, such as an article, video, podcast, or event, and help turn it into a strong package of digital products across multiple platforms.

This internship can be completed remotely or in person in our Washington, D.C. office.

5500 - 7500 USD a year

Stand Together Fellowships pays participants a stipend of either $7,500 for full-time participants working approximately 32 hours per week at the partner organization, or $5,500 for part-time participants working approximately 24 hours per week at the partner organization. Attending the entirety of the online and on-site KIP programming is required for both full and part-time participants.
