Overview

Kinyarwanda Interpreters Needed role at Affordable Language Services

Location: Greater Portland area. This is independent contracting work to provide interpreting services to the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor.
• Serve the community by assisting students in schools, patients in hospitals, and other settings as needed.
• Help break down language barriers and support multicultural communities in accessing services.

Qualifications

• Fluently bilingual in English and Kinyarwanda.
• If you do not have proof of professional interpreter training, you will be required to pass a language test across English and Kinyarwanda.
• US I-9 work authorization.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing and able to provide a background check and drug test.
• Willing and able to provide MMR, Varicella, Covid, and Flu vaccination records if interested in medical interpreting.
• Willing and able to primarily attend in-person appointments.
• Professional training/experience preferred, but not required.
