Job summary

Pulaski Heights Elementary School in Little Rock, AR seeks a Kindergarten Teacher to contribute to student growth and learning within a nine-and-a-quarter-month contract.

The ideal candidate holds an Arkansas K-6 (or ECE P-4) license, demonstrates strong instructional planning, and collaborates with families and staff to support diverse learners. Teaching duties include planning, assessment, and professional development participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; some graduate work preferred.
• Arkansas Teacher’s license for Elementary Education K-6 or ECE P-4.
• Competence in the total teaching act.
• Ability to apply current educational theory and practice with diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
• Plans instruction to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth of students; assess progress and adapt instruction.
• Guides learning to meet curriculum goals by clear objectives and integrated units.
• Prepares for instruction and plans daily activities; uses varied instructional techniques and media.
• Implements innovative instructional strategies and collects data on effectiveness.
• Serves as a model classroom and provides support to fellow teachers.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and equitable standards.
• Maintains inventory and keeps classroom orderly.
• Monitors activities to ensure safety and promote social skills.
• Meets with parents outside instructional time to foster involvement and cooperation.
• Promotes community spirit and positive communication with students and parents.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in district/school-sponsored development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
