Job summary

Hamilton County Schools is seeking a passionate Elementary Education teacher at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School in Chattanooga, TN.

You will plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards; differentiate for all learners; collaborate with colleagues and families; and foster a well‑managed classroom. This role supports the district's goal of helping every student thrive, with opportunities for professional growth and participation in the Differentiated Compensation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education is required.
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) or enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
Compensation & Additional Info:
  • Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
  • Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
