Job summary

Good Shepherd School in Oregon is seeking a Kindergarten Long-Term Substitute Teacher to cover the remainder of the 2026-2027 academic year. The role combines classroom instruction with ministry leadership, fostering a Christ-centered learning environment and engagement with students, parents, and staff.

The candidate should hold a education-related bachelor’s degree and have familiarity with Google Classroom and Google Workspace tools, with substitute teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education preferred.
• Experience with Google Classroom, Sites, Forms, Sheets, Meet etc. is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft is preferred.
• Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be present at the school daily, 7:30am – 3:30pm, according to the school calendar days of operation.
• Follow the given lesson plans (long-term subs may write their own plans).
• Prep, teach, and assess all subject areas required for the grade level.
• Understand and articulate curriculum with context, organization and development.
• Build relationships with students and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment.
• Observe and evaluate students’ academic performance, behavior, and social development.
• Communicate with students, parents and staff in a timely manner.
• Attend morning devotions and lead staff prayer as directed.
