• Guides the learning process towards achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons and projects.
• Creates a classroom environment that encourages student participation and is conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Employs instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Assesses student progress regularly and provides feedback as required.
• Assesses learning difficulties and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Strives to improve professionally as an educator.
• Maintains orderly classroom rules and procedures in fair and just manner.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in Professional Learning Communities.
• Protects students, equipment and materials from hazards and accidents.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Organizes classes so substitutes can function with minimal loss of learning.
• Utilizes community resources when available.
• Maintains availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional hours.
• Performs other tasks assigned by administration.
