Job summary

McMinn County Schools is seeking an Interim Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten) for Mountain View Elementary School for the remainder of the 2026/27 school year. Immediate vacancy with state certification required.

The teacher will plan lessons aligned with Tennessee standards, implement accommodations, collaborate with staff, attend PLCs, and maintain accurate records while supporting student progress and behavior in a classroom designed for varied learners.

Qualifications

• Tennessee Teaching License is required.
• Endorsement for area of primary teaching assignment (PreK-3 certification or K-5) is required.
• Must meet requirements of state instructional standards.
• No prior experience required, but teachers without experience will be assigned a veteran mentor.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons aligned with Tennessee standards to meet diverse student needs.
• Provide accommodations and modifications as appropriate (IEP/504 or admin agreement).
• Maintain punctuality and active engagement during work hours.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan, deliver, and reflect on instruction and student data; participate in PLCs.
• Maintain classroom culture that supports learning and mutual respect.
• Develop and implement lesson plans; provide evidence when requested.
• Utilize Tennessee Curriculum Standards and vetted curriculum approved by the McMinn Board of Education.
• Employ varied instructional techniques for on-site and remote/alternate learners.
• Monitor progress via formative assessments and recognize achievements.
