Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking a Kindergarten Aide at Forestbrook Elementary in Myrtle Beach, SC for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and managing materials to ensure students benefit from the instructional program.

The position requires paraprofessional qualifications (60 credits/Associates or certificate) and the ability to work with young children in a structured environment during 185 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must meet requirements for a paraprofessional which includes one of the following: 60 college credits or an Associates Degree or Paraprofessional certificate (minimum score of 456 on the exam) or passed the 4 areas of WorkKeys.
• Demonstrate aptitude for work with young children and knowledge of needs and development of young children.
• Administration and/or Board may find appropriate and acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Kindergarten Teacher in preparing for classroom activities.
• Assist with providing individual and small group instruction to meet individual needs.
• Help create a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Assist with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack, recess, lunch, clothing and bathroom duties.
• Maintain records as required by the school district/State Department of Education.
