Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring Kilns/Lift Operator II for our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA. Starting pay ranges from $21.50 to $28 per hour, with potential increases based on skills and performance. Shift options include 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

or 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., with a repeating 3-on/3-off schedule. Primary duties include kiln operations, burner control, and dry kiln processes, plus maintenance support and safe, efficient production of lumber.

Qualifications

• Six months in manufacturing/industrial environment or related technical training.
• Six months forklift/heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• One year experience operating a dry kiln or boiler.
• One year experience operating a multi-ton forklift or heavy equipment.
• Experience with rigging equipment and load weights.

Responsibilities

• Monitor kiln alarm system and respond appropriately.
• Control process variables (tank levels, temperatures, moisture).
• Operate burners and kilns via computer for safe drying.
• Troubleshoot machine center issues.
• Make critical burner/drying decisions.
• Perform PMs and correct issues with precision.
• Operate forklift outside in a climate-controlled environment.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed.
