Job summary

KidStrong in Knoxville is seeking a Children's Coach to engage with parents and kids, delivering brain, physical, and character development per our evolving curriculum.

The role supports a flexible schedule, with part-time or full-time options. Training and certification are provided on the clock, and you will mentor children to build confidence and ability.

Responsibilities

  • Coach classes for 6–15 children aged 12 months to 11 years.
  • Follow the KidStrong curriculum and HQ instructions.
  • Start/end classes on schedule and maintain class pace.
  • Greet families and partners before and after class.
  • Keep the center clean and safe, including equipment handling.

The KidStrong Childrens Coach - Role and Schedule Details:
  • Ideally we are looking for a coach with athletic or coaching experience who has experience coaching kids ages 12 months to 11 years old, however if you have the "must haves" above.
  • KidStrong Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from the evolving monthly curriculum
  • The ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians
  • Our classes run typically weekdays, 9 am -11 am and evenings until 7 pm, and weekends are typically from 8 am through lunch/noon.
  • Opportunity for a flexible work schedule depending on studio needs.
  • Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party and camp coaching hours.
  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus but not required!
Kidstrong Childrens Coach Responsibilities:
  • Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Sense of urgency: Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App (iPad) to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers and peers
  • Complete paid training as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
  • Attend monthly center staff programming meetings for curriculum training and additional mandatory sessions as required by the GM
  • Help run Coach KidStrong Camp - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example Winter Break, Summer Break)
  • Obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team (we provide this training on the clock)
