Job summary

North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) seeks a choreographer to teach and choreograph all musical numbers for the spring Cinderella production. The program runs January through April with Friday and Sunday rehearsals in Charlestown; four performances are scheduled April 30–May 2.

The role involves guiding a cast of 8–14 and collaborating with directors and staff to deliver a high-quality, inclusive experience.

Qualifications

• Experience creating choreography.
• Background in teaching students and performing theatre and/or dance.
• Dance training in a variety of styles.
• Strong collaborators, communicators, problem-solvers and organizers.
• Able to balance an inclusive educational rehearsal process with a high-quality production.
• Punctual, reliable and flexible throughout the program.
• Completed or ongoing training in theatre, dance or education is a plus.
• Must pass CORI background check.

Responsibilities

• Choreographing and teaching all musical numbers to the cast.
• Relay and execute their vision for all dances in the show.
• Attending all necessary rehearsals including tech/dress week and all performances.
• Creating a positive learning environment and fun atmosphere for the cast.
• Collaborating with our other directors and NEMPAC staff.
