Bezos Academy is seeking a Part-time Food Service Assistant in Mesa, Arizona to manage CACFP-compliant menus and food service operations in our Montessori-inspired preschool kitchen.

You will handle orders, deliveries, meal service, and sanitation while supporting classroom activities and meals for students. This role requires attention to safety, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and English fluency; experience in a regulated kitchen is preferred.

Qualificações

• Age 18 with high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass background checks and trainings required by AZ DCYF.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand long periods.
• Experience in institutional or regulated kitchen settings.
• Active food worker card.
• Familiarity with AZ food and beverage worker manual.
• English reading and writing fluently.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Place weekly grocery orders based on menu and inventory.
• Receive and verify daily food deliveries for accuracy.
• Manage vendor performance to ensure service.
• Ensure meals comply with menus and safety standards.
• Track food consumption and waste to control costs.
• Prepare and serve meals and utensils for scheduled services.
• Maintain food hygiene, safety, and clean kitchen.
• Manage inventory with proper labeling and dating.
• Record food temperatures before meals.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Assist in family events and classroom support.
• Provide 1:1 support and build positive relationships with children.
• Place weekly grocery orders and verify deliveries when on-site cooking.
• Prepare meals per planned menu and adapt for dietary needs.
• Schedule meals (breakfast/lunch/snack) and substitutions to reduce waste.
• Plan nutritious, budget-friendly menus for students.
• Provide delivery receipts for CACFP records for 3 years.
• Ensure correct serving sizes and log meal counts weekly.
• Attend CACFP sponsor trainings and recordkeeping.
• Clock in/out via Workday for food-related duties.
