Job summary

Westwood Community Church is offering an internship in the Kids Ministry to gain experience in professional, personal, and spiritual development. The role involves assisting with Sunday programs for birth through 5th grade, collaborating with volunteers, and aligning with church safety policies.

You will participate in team meetings and intensives, developing leadership, teaching, and administration skills within a multisite ministry.

• Experience with planning large-scale events.
• Desire and ability to actively engage children and effectively interact with volunteers and parents.
• Ability to attract, equip, resource, and mobilize a diverse group of volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Gifted in leadership, administration, and teaching.
• Must have a teachable spirit.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large.
• Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith.
• Participate in required team events: Orientation and Intensives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of Kids Ministry programs on Sundays for birth-5th grade, holidays, and special events.
• Recruit, train, equip, and encourage campus Kids Ministry Team volunteers.
• Participate in Kids Ministry staff meetings and work closely with other members of the Kids Ministry Team for cohesive ministry implementation.
• Maintain safety and security policies and procedures.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
