Inspired by Jewish values, culture, and tradition, we build relationships, foster learning, and offer accessible pathways to Jewish life through programs for children, teens, families, adults, and older adults. After decades of operating our suite of programs in North Berkeley, we will be opening a new home for East Bay Jewish life in the summer of 2026 in Oakland. Our new campus will offer programs and activities to spark creativity, nurture identity, and weave together diverse generations, cultures, and organizations—including voices from across global Jewry—into a living tapestry of culture, learning, and kehilla (community) connections. Our future flagship campus in the Rockridge neighborhood will house our administrative offices and our award-winning preschool opening in the fall of 2026, and we will retain afterschool programs in Berkeley and in several Oakland public schools.POSITION SUMMARYThe JCC Kids Club Program Manager reports directly to the JCC Kids Club Director and is responsible for the success of the JCC Kids Club program at their specific school site. With the Director and Assistant Director, the Program Manager will ensure a balance of academic and enrichment activities and provide a safe environment while collaboratively interacting with school and district staff and leaders, community partners, families, and students. The JCC Kids Club Program Manager will support Summer Camp in the months when the JCC Kids Club Afterschool program is not in session.Programming* Participate in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for all afterschool programs.* Support teachers with setting up classrooms and activities.* Support teachers and children during transition times.* Provide continuity in student and programmatic needs.Administrative* With Assistant Director, create and maintain master roster, authorized pick-up lists, emergency binders, sign-in sheets;* Receive student absences from parents and coordinate early pick-ups, follow up with families regarding absences.* With Assistant Director, coordinate field trips and special events.* Assist, coordinate, and supervise enrichment schedule and vendor agreements.* Collaborate with Assistant Director to manage relationships with daytime teachers.Compliance with OUSD Expanded Learning Program* Ensure 20:1 staff to student ratios (10:1 for TK/K) are maintained at all times.* Ensures snack/supper is served, monitored, and documented for participating students and submits appropriate snack reportsStudent & Teacher Support* Collaborate with Assistant Director to reinforce class dismissal times, roll call, and snack periods to ensure all students and vendors are accounted for.* Create a weekly schedule for staff, including break schedules.* Collaborate with Assistant Director and Director regarding behavior management.* Sub for teachers when they are absent.Communication* Assist with parent communication by email, phone, and in-person.* Communicate to parents about enrichment changes and deadlines.* Create weekly newsletters for families/stakeholders, and submit them to the Marketing Manager.General* Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced team environment, and handle and manage multiple projects to meet timelines and deadlines.* Proactive behaviors with leadership and consensus building skills.* Goal-oriented and close attention to detail.* Commitment to the mission of the JCC East Bay and knowledge of or commitment to learning about the Jewish community, values, and traditions.* Other duties as determined by the Director.REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Minimum of 2 years of child care or teaching or equivalent experience.* Experience in OUSD Expanded Learning Program, preferred* Must have experience working with children grades K-5 and be able to plan appropriate activities for different age groups.* BA in Education or relevant field preferred.* Excellent communication and organizational skills.* Ability to organize tasks, and develop and implement plans to efficiently meet organizational goals.* Ability to lead groups of 20 or more.* Ability to work in a team.* Ability to push/pull and lift/carry objects weighing 50 pounds.* Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.* Ability to sit on floors and chairs, and to get up and down quickly.* Ability to bend from knees and waist to help a child.* Ability to maneuver in confined lavatories to aid children with toilet needs.* Ability to respond without delay to the needs of young children.The salary for this role is $70,304 for full-time year-round work.
