Job summary

YSS is seeking a Kids Club Lead Program Assistant for Ledges Elementary School in Boone, IA. The role supports before/after-school programs for K-6 and middle school students, combining instructional leadership with mentorship in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, supervising staff, planning activities, coordinating with families and school partners, and handling administrative tasks. This role offers growth and meaningful youth impact.

Qualifications

• Requires childcare certification.
• Background in child development or family services.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities and manage groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day program operations with staff/volunteers.
• Supervise staff, schedule, and arrange substitutes.
• Plan creative activities, field trips, and summer programming.
• Directly supervise children and maintain a safe environment.
• Partner with parents, school staff, and community resources.
• Administer child assessments and maintain records.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Attend staff meetings and allocate 5 planning hours weekly.
