Position

Kids Club Inclusion Site Specialist – 12 month position

Location Varies – All elementary buildings; specific location(s) will be assigned and may change based upon student and program needs.

Schedule

Full‑Time Hours

• Base Hours: 6.75‑7.25 hours/day (33.75‑36.25 hours/week – total hours will depend upon program needs)
• School Year: Before and After School hours
  • 6:15‑9:30 and 2:00 or 2:30‑6:00 (afternoon start time based upon site placement)
• Summer & Non‑School Days
  • Hours TBD (6.75‑8 hours per day, pending program needs)

Part‑Time Hours

• Base Hours: 3.25‑4 hours/day (16.25‑20 hours/week – total hours will depend upon program needs)
• School Year: Before or After School hours
  • AM Hours: 6:15‑9:30
  • PM Hours: Start time of 2:00 or 2:30‑6:00 (start time based upon site placement)
• Summer & Non‑School Days
  • Hours TBD (3.25‑8 hours per day, pending program needs and candidate availability)

Full‑time and part‑time positions will have regular midday trainings and meetings scheduled in addition to site‑based hours.

Starting Base Pay $25.19 /hr

Anticipated Start Date Flexible – Mid‑August, or as positions/candidates become available

Notes Eligible for a retention bonus, based upon grant availability.

Job Summary

The Inclusion Site Specialist works directly with all children in out‑of‑school time programs, offering direct support in addressing social‑emotional, health and safety, and behavior needs. In this role, they work alongside the Site Supervisors, Out‑of‑School Time Site Support Specialists, and the Inclusion Coordinator to implement inclusion modifications and accommodations and support individual students. They participate in regular trainings and meetings to develop new inclusion skills, plan and offer activities for all kids, and assist with opening and closing sites, emergency responses and medication administration. The position floats to sites to support inclusion or other needs as required by the program, and backs up the Site Supervisor when unavailable.

Position Summary

• Work with all kids as a regular member of the Kids Club program, planning and leading activities, rotating on site, and supporting out‑of‑school time programs under guidance of program coordinators.
• Collaborate with the Site Supervisor and other staff to support invisible inclusion, providing support when behaviors or emotions are dysregulated, and intervening with positive behavior intervention strategies, accommodations and modifications.
• Inform supervisors and specialists of observations regarding student adjustment, learning, social interaction, behavior, and physical functioning of individual children.
• Know and understand the health, safety and behavioral needs of each child at each site, recommending and implementing reasonable accommodations and modifications as established by the program. Support development and adaptation of site support and inclusion plans with Site Supervisors and coordinators.
• Float as necessary to sites where student needs require reduced ratio or primary care support.
• With Site Supervisors, provide special services to students with disabilities, including toileting, feeding and medication administration in compliance with district and OST policies.
• Support streamlined, confidential communication of needs across the program, assist in maintaining and updating Health, Safety and Inclusion binder, Site Support Plans, Inclusion Plans, Special Needs Lists and related documents, and complete necessary documentation including all Department of Human Services certification reporting.
• Attend regular team meetings with OSTs and Inclusion Coordinator, review student needs, discuss special needs topics and share resources. Attend site‑based and other program meetings, events and trainings as required.
• Attend student support meetings as needed, and communicate regularly with families and district staff regarding student needs following district and program policies.
• With Site Supervisors, understand and implement all facets of behavior management systems and program strategies, modeling appropriate behavior to guide children in developing positive social skills.
• Participate in annual professional development as outlined in state and program guidelines (PT staff: 20 hr/year, FT staff: 30 hr/year).
• Create and implement lesson plans focused on social‑emotional learning.
• Proactively establish a positive, supportive community among students and staff, maintaining safety and security of the children, ensuring accurate attendance and necessary documentation.
• Understand and comply with district and OST policies, including emergency procedures, building orientation, confidentiality, student vulnerability, reporting, classroom management and inclusion practices. Take lead role when Supervisor is absent.
• Prepare equipment and materials for activities, set‑up and clean‑up program areas, and help students prepare and serve meals and snacks as appropriate. Notify Site Supervisor of needed repairs or supplies.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, fairness, confidentiality, respect and equity for all students, staff and families and maintain boundaries.
• Attend field trips as program staff, support student needs, and help develop field trip plans with Supervisors and coordinators.
• Adjust schedule as needed for field trips, non‑school days, trainings, meetings and summers.
• Back‑up Site Supervisor when unavailable and open/close Kids Club sites.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 12 credits or 120 hrs relevant training and 2,080 hrs related experience, OR AA degree/vocational certificate in education, child care, recreation, special education or related area plus 12 credits or 120 hrs relevant training and 1,040 hrs experience, OR baccalaureate degree in education, early childhood, recreation, special education or related area plus 12 credits or 120 hrs relevant training and 520 hrs experience.
• Demonstrates appreciation of diversity in all interactions.
