Crossroads Church is seeking a part-time Kids Club Assistant to support the Kids Club Coordinator at the Community Center. You will help design, set up, and run engaging activities for Pre-K through 6th grade, ensuring a warm, safe, and welcoming environment each week.

Wednesdays, 3:30–7:30, with up to four Wednesdays away per year. This role requires a heart for ministry to children and the ability to work well with others while handling setup, supervision, and logistics.

Qualifications

• Experience in children’s environments or ministry is preferred.
• Must be a Crossroads Church attendee.

Kids Club Assistant

MINISTRY LOCATION: Community Center

REPORTS TO: Director of Missions

STATUS: Part-time, Non-Exempt

HOURS: Up to 4 hours per week

PRIMARY MINISTRY AREA: Pre-K - 6th graders

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the Kids Club Assistant at the Community Center, you will play a vital role in crafting irresistible weekly programming where Pre-K through 6th grade students feel welcomed, valued, and excited to take their next steps. Working side-by-side with the Kids Club Coordinator, you will help design, set up, and run dynamic experiences that engage children—with a special focus on giving our youngest attendees (Pre-K and Kindergarteners) a warm, safe, and captivating environment every single week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support Kids Club Program Implementation

Support the Kids Club Coordinator in preparing for and implementing Kids Club programs and related activities.

• Collaborate with the Kids Club Coordinator regarding program setup and takedown.


• Assist the Kids Club Coordinator in the implementation of the Kids Club program and related activities.

2. Support Preschool and Kindergarten Children

Assist Pre-K and Kindergarten-aged children as directed by the Kids Club Coordinator.

• Act as the primary aide to the Kids Club Coordinator during Kids Club programming.


• Provide support to Pre-K and Kindergarten-aged children as directed by the Kids Club Coordinator.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Arrive prior to Kids club to set up the room and stay after children leave to clean and reset the room.


• Assist in the implementation of Kids Club programs and related activities.


• Act as the primary aide to the Kids Club Coordinator.


• Provide primary support to Pre-K and Kindergarten-aged children as directed.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES

• Works well with children from Pre-K through 6th grade.


• Ability to work collaboratively with the Kids Club Coordinator and others.


• Has strong organizational skills.


• Ability to complete set up and take down without assistance.


• Ability to provide appropriate oversight to young children as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrates the ability to work well with children Pre-K through 6th grade.

WORK SCHEDULE

Wednesdays, 3:30–7:30.

EXPERIENCE

Experience serving in children’s environments or another people-facing ministry environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Crossroads Church attendee.


• Full affirmation of Crossroads’ mission, vision, values, beliefs, and leadership expectations.


• Completion of all required background checks, child safety training, and ministry onboarding.


• Ability to work Wednesdays consistently, with up to four Wednesdays away per year with advance coordination and approved coverage.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive family, child, and volunteer information appropriately.

1. Proactive Environment Preparation

The Kids Club space is fully set up, welcoming, and equipped before children arrive, and thoroughly cleaned and reset after they leave, achieved with minimal need for reminders or oversight.

2. Reliable Support

The Kids Club Coordinator experiences the Assistant as a dependable partner who anticipates needs, steps in seamlessly during activities, and reliably manages their assigned duties independently.

3. Safe and Engaged Children

Pre-K and Kindergarten children receive attentive, warm, and safe oversight, ensuring they feel cared for and are actively engaged in the program.

4. Smooth Operations

Transitions before, during, and after Kids Club are efficient and organized, demonstrating the Assistant's ability to take initiative and follow through on all logistical tasks.
