Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools is seeking a Kid Zone Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in the ESS team. The role includes leading groups, assisting with instructional activities, and implementing IEP accommodations to promote student success.

The position supports school-wide goals, with a schedule of morning and afternoon sessions. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to collaborate with teachers and ESS staff for student progress.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Serve as a contributing member of the ESS and special education team.
  • Support academic programs designed by ESS instructors, special and general education teachers including leading small groups, providing one-to-one follow-up, re-teaching/review, and keeping students on-task.
  • Provide supports to enhance student success and independence through implementation of Individual Education Program (IEP) adaptations and accommodations. (e.g., taking notes in class, reading materials aloud, utilizing technology, implementing organizational tools).
  • Provide feedback to ESS instructors and special education teachers about ESS class activities, assignments, student participation, and behavior.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Training or experience working with children in a group tutorial and supervisory setting.
  • Interpersonal skills, that lend themselves to a compatible working relationship with students and other adults in the work place as determined by the principal.
  • Possess basic academic competencies to provide tutorial assistance to the student(s) as needed.
SCHEDULE:
  • Days Per Year: 176 plus field trips
  • Start Date: 10/5/2026
  • Start and End Times: 7:00am-10:00am and 3:30pm-6:00pm
