Chicago CBT Center is looking for a thoughtful, curious therapist who genuinely enjoys working with children and families.
Founded in 2010, Chicago CBT Center is an established private-pay specialty practice providing evidence-based treatment for anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, phobias and related concerns.
We believe clinicians do their best work when caseloads are sustainable.
A typical full-time caseload is approximately 25 45-minute sessions per week .
Licensed Clinical Psychologists maintaining this caseload average $150,000+ annually, with additional annual bonuses averaging $3,000–$6,000. New clinicians receive a starting stipend while building their caseload, along with an established stream of referrals and support as they transition into the practice.
Because we are a private-pay practice and not contracted with insurance companies, clinicians can maintain lower-volume caseloads while earning competitive compensation. Treatment decisions are based on what is clinically appropriate, not insurance-company requirements.
Clinicians have flexibility in structuring their schedules and may work from our Lincoln Park and/or Skokie office , with hybrid work options available.
During the first year, clinicians should be available until 7:00 PM on 2–3 weekdays while establishing their caseload. No weekend hours are required.
You genuinely enjoy working with children and with their parents. We view parents as essential treatment partners, particularly when working with younger children. Our clinicians help parents understand treatment, coach them in supporting skill development, and involve families in ways that help children use what they learn outside the therapy room.
Humor, curiosity, flexibility, quick thinking and an analytical mind tend to fit particularly well with our team.
Build your clinical niche. Our reputation as a specialty practice brings families specifically seeking evidence-based care. As clinicians develop, we work with them to cultivate areas of expertise and build a caseload that reflects their clinical interests.
Clinical development is a major part of working at Chicago CBT Center. During their first year, clinicians participate in weekly small-group training covering areas such as OCD and related disorders, anxiety disorders, phobias, ADHD, parent and family interventions, and other evidence-based treatments.
Clinicians also receive:
Recent in-house trainings have included SPACE, identifying subtle but significant autism, ADHD assessment and differential diagnosis, Family-Based Treatment for eating disorders, and transgender letter writing.
We want clinicians to develop their own areas of expertise and build their individual fingerprint as a therapist.
Several years of post-licensure experience is preferred. We encourage strong earlier-career clinicians with meaningful child and family experience to apply.
We are looking for someone who wants more than simply a place to see clients. We want clinicians who are excited to keep learning, think deeply about their work, collaborate with colleagues and families, and build a long-term career in evidence-based practice.
