Job summary

Shady Rays is hiring a Part-Time Key Holder for a brand-new store opening in November at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, FL. You will greet customers, explain polarized lenses, and help shoppers find perfect sunglasses while opening/closing the store as Manager on Duty when needed.

You’ll lead by example, drive sales with product knowledge, and ensure the floor looks its best. Flexible scheduling, discounts, and benefits accompany this customer-focused role.

Qualifications

• 1 year+ retail experience; key holder experience preferred.
• Energetic, outgoing and enjoys meeting people.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Tech-savvy with experience using POS systems and inventory tools.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and guide them to products that fit their needs.
• Open/close the store and act as Manager on Duty when needed.
• Drive sales through product knowledge and merchandising.
• Maintain store appearance and handle register functions.
• Support inventory, shipping/receiving and related paperwork.

Shady Rays, one of the largest and fastest growing mid-priced sunglasses brand in the U.S., has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Key Holder in our brand new store opening in November at St. Johns Town Center. You're the person customers remember. You’ll greet people, get shades on faces, explain why polarized lenses matter, and help each customer find shades that fit their needs. As a Key Holder, you’ll also open and close the store and run the floor as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is out. You’ll help drive team sales through product knowledge, merchandising, register functions, store appearance, and other related tasks

The ideal candidate will be customer obsessed, driven, and a forward-thinker. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in a variety of duties surrounding store operations as well as providing an outstanding customer branded experience. The position includes performing duties that help drive sales through product knowledge, merchandising, register functions, store appearance, and other related tasks. We will consider both full-time and part-time candidates for this role.

Role and Responsibilities

• Start conversations, learn what customers need, and guide them to the right products
• Become a product expert, from lens technology to frame styles to the Lost & Broken Protection Plan, and help teammates do the same
• Leads by example and models behavior that reflects Shady Ray’s core values and brand philosophy
• Performs key opening and closing duties, complying with all company policies, procedures and directives
• Fosters a customer-focused team environment as Manager on Duty, driving volume and anticipating customers’ needs
• Assists the store manager in educating associates on marketing initiatives, product placement, lifestyle concepts, and product knowledge providing feedback and coaching
• Acts as a role model demonstrating elevated customer service to the team
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise with the ability to help develop the team to be product experts
• Assists in all areas of stock, shipping, receiving protocol/policies, procedures, and all shipping/receiving related paperwork
• Ensures the sales floor is neat, organized, stocked, and adheres to company visual standards
• Assists in the implementation and maintenance of all merchandising/ visual directives
• Communicates inventory needs to support the business goal and identify any product or supply issues
• Adheres to all policy and procedures

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Can work evenings weekends, and holidays on a flexible schedule
• Energetic, outgoing, and enjoys meeting new people
• Likes demonstrating products and helping people decide - not just ringing them up
• Leads by example and likes helping teammates grow
• 1 year+ retail experience (key holder experience preferred)
• Tech-savvy with experience using POS systems and inventory management tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts
